18 coin comparisons

The 1-year change of each coin, how closely they moved (correlation of daily returns, 1 = always together) and their annualized volatility.

How to read a comparison

The numbers describe one past year, not a forecast. The 1-year change says where each coin ended. Volatility and the maximum drawdown say how rough the ride was. Correlation says whether owning both actually spread the risk: most pairs here sit between 0.74 and 0.91, so their daily moves mostly lined up.

The $500 test on every page compares one buy at the start with 52 weekly buys, the idea behind dollar-cost averaging. More terms in the crypto glossary, and each coin's own year on the coin pages.

Questions about the comparisons

Which two coins moved most alike?

From Oct 10, 2025 to Oct 10, 2026, Bitcoin and Ethereum, with a correlation of 0.91 on daily returns. The next closest of these pairs was Solana and Ethereum at 0.88.

Which pair moved least alike?

Solana and TRON, with a correlation of only 0.37. Every other pair here was at 0.74 or above, because most large coins follow Bitcoin's daily direction.
