Position Size Calculator

Figure out exactly how much to invest in a trade based on your risk tolerance. Never risk more than you can afford to lose.

  1. Enter your account balance. This is the total amount in your trading account.
  2. Set your risk percentage. Most traders risk 1-2% per trade. If you have $5,000 and risk 2%, you're okay losing $100 on this trade.
  3. Add the entry and stop loss prices. Entry is where you buy, stop loss is where you sell if it goes wrong. The gap between them determines your position size.
  4. Optional: set a take profit. This shows your potential reward and whether the trade is worth the risk.

Risk Amount is the maximum you'd lose if your stop loss gets hit. It's your account balance multiplied by your risk percentage.

Position Size is the total dollar amount you should put into the trade. This is calculated so that if the price drops to your stop loss, you only lose your risk amount.

Coins to Buy is your position size divided by the entry price. This is the exact number of coins to purchase.
